TINGHA Recreation Reserve Land Managers have been announced as a state semi-finalist in the 2023 Community Achievement Awards for NSW and ACT.
The Recreation Reserve Land Managers, which were previously known as a Crown Land Trust, consists of four volunteers – Ivan Coleman, Colleen Graham, Terry Payne and Danny Coleman. All four have been involved in the upkeep of the Crown land reserve for decades, undertaking day to day maintenance such as lawn mowing and also securing grants to improve community facilities.
A spokesperson from the Community Achievement Awards says “the judging panel received almost 250 nominations and subsequently the decisions made by the judges were very difficult, so congratulations to all semi-finalists for getting to the next round of judging”.
The Awards encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions that individuals, communities and businesses make throughout New South Wales and ACT.
Colleen Graham says as a semi-finalist, the Tingha Recreation Reserve Land Managers nomination will now be reviewed by a judging panel during the final stages of judging, which will take place in October.
The winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner to be held in Sydney on 25 November with MC Michael Usher from 7NEWS.
