Record Early Childhood Investment

by | Jun 26, 2024 | Education, Politics | 0 comments

Families across NSW are set to benefit from increased access to early childhood services, as the Minns Labor Government makes a record $1.82 billion investment in early childhood education and care as part of the 2024-25 Budget.

As part of this investment, $1.71 billion in recurrent funding will be allocated to early childhood education and care, and some $105 million in capital funding will also be allocated to the Government’s $769 million investment in 100 new public preschools.

The historic investment will more than double the number of public preschools in NSW by 2027 and see more than 9000 additional children benefit from access to high-quality early childhood education ahead of school.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning Prue Car says this investment in the early childhood sector is the largest made by any NSW government and demonstrates Labor’s commitment to giving children around the state the best educational start in life.
