Pathfinders will be hosting The Clothesline Project, a powerful community event aimed at raising awareness and giving a voice to victims of gender-based violence.
The event will take place during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, offering a safe and therapeutic space for participants and community supporters to come together, share stories, and stand in solidarity against violence.
The Clothesline Project is an interactive event where survivors of violence, along with their supporters, are invited to express their emotions by designing t-shirts.
Each t-shirt becomes a canvas for personal stories, messages of hope, and expressions of solidarity. These t-shirts are then displayed on a public clothesline, symbolising the voices that can no longer remain silent.
Pathfinders Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) will facilitate the events, creating a supportive and healing environment for participants. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences, support one another, and contribute to raising awareness about the impact of gender-based violence.
The Inverell event is proudly supported by Best Community Shed, which has generously donated to support the event.
“The Clothesline Project is an opportunity for people to share their stories and show support for those affected by violence in our community,” said Janatha McKay Pathfinders, SHS Coordinator “We welcome survivors, their loved ones, and community members to join us in standing together against violence.”
