Residents of Gwydir Shire will have new leadership after a New Mayor and Deputy Mayor have been appointed following an election at yesterday’s Ordinary Council Meeting.
Cr Tiffany Galvin has been elected as Gwydir Shire’s new Mayor while Cr Sean Coleman from Warialda was elected as Deputy Mayor.
The duo take over from long serving Mayor John Coulton and Deputy Mayor Catherine Egan who did not run at last months Local Government Elections
Mayor Galvin and Deputy Mayor Coleman are joined by councillors Sarah Crump, Mick Collins, Marilyn Dixon, Rachel Sherman, Scot Crispin, John Bishton and Adrian Willmot.
Mayor Galvin is the 4th female Mayor in the Northern Tablelands region to be newly elected to council following the appointments of Moree Plains former Deputy Mayor Susannah Pearce, Glen Innes Severn Cr Margot Davis and Inverell Shire’s former Deputy Mayor Kate Dight.
