A 59 year old man who allegedly assaulted another man in Hindmarsh St and was arrested after a police operation in MacIntyre St last week has been granted conditional bail after appearing via video link in Tamworth Local Court on Friday.
The man is alleged to have assaulted a 62-year-old man with a firearm, before leaving the scene, eventually being apprehended by police at a unit on Macintyre Street following a police operation.
Inquiries have led police to believe the two men are known to each other.
He faces the charges of specially aggravated break and enter, possession of unauthorised prohibited firearm, and possess prohibited drug.
He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Inverell Local Court on 15th August.
