New England MP Barnaby Joyce claims the four policy demands made by the Nationals Party to its Liberal counterparts weren’t the items of the whole party room.
It follows the week-long split of the Liberal-Nationals Coalition last week after National Leader David Littleproud announced they would walk away from their coalition partner for not accepting four of their policies included the lifting the moratorium on nuclear power, a $20bn regional development fund, supermarket divestiture powers and calling on providers to increase coverage for mobile and internet providers in the regions.
Speaking on STA FM, Mr Joyce highlighted the party room items of getting rid of Net Zero targets, Medicare provider numbers to be issued to regional areas to address the rural doctors shortages and nominate rural roads to be fixed should’ve been the items to bring to the fore .
He says the policy items were those of a select few in the party and not the whole party room which led to the decision to split the Coalition.
