Inverell police have arrested a 31-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman following separate incidents in Inverell recently.

The man was arrested by police at an address in Girle Street following the report of a theft of jewellery from a store in Byron Street on Friday.

Police allege the man was found in possession of prohibited drugs during a search of his person and the location and was issued a Court Attendance Notice for the offence Possess Prohibited Drug to appear at Inverell Local Court on the 12^th of June.

Investigations are continuing into the theft from the jewellery store.

Meantime, an Inverell women will appear in Inverell Local Court following the assault of another women on Waratah Avenue Inverell on Sunday 11 May.

The woman was arrested by Inverell Police on Friday in relation to the matter and was given strict conditional bail for the offence of Reckless grievous bodily harm to appear at Inverell Local Court on the 12^th of June.
