In what Coach Damian Shutz has described as one of the best games he’s been part of, Inverell F.C have knocked over Woolgoolga United in the first round of the Northern NSW Regional Super League, played at the sports Complex on Saturday.
In a physical affair, Inverell F.C got out to a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Sam Byrne and Paul Leo before having to withstand a second half come back from the visitors.
Shutz praised Brent Pedlow, Alex Kaku and youngster Tom Putter who played out of his skin.
Meantime Inverell F.C’s 3rd’s continued their goal kicking spree with a 10 -nil win over Armidale Westside their 4ths went down to South Armidale united 2-1, while their women’s teams scored comprehensive wins with first grade scoring a 9-1 win over East Armidale while the Reserve grade defeated TAS 4-1.
