Dry July To Set Kick Off

by | Jun 27, 2024 | Community | 0 comments

An awareness campaign where people are challenged to go alcohol-free for a month to raise funds for people affected by cancer kicks off on Monday.

Dry July is an initiative that kicked off in 2008 when three mates, Brett, Kenny and Phil, wanted to take a break from alcohol and decided to abstain for the month of July, coining it their ‘Dry July’ whilst also raising money for a cause very close to their hearts

The funds raised through Dry July provides invaluable services to cancer patients, their families and carers – whether it’s a lift to a life-saving appointment, guidance from a specialist nurse, connection to an informative voice, access to therapy programs or a bed close to treatment.

The Dry July Foundation says having a month off alcohol also has great health benefits, such as sleeping better, having more energy and of course, no hangovers.

Details on how to participate in the Dry July Campaign is available on the Dry July Foundation website.
